With its unique strategic position in the region as a highly accredited French speaking university, with 6% foreign students and more than 140 partner universities, USJ is committed to openness and to the enhancement of international academic cooperation.
Although mainly turned towards cooperation with France (82 universities), USJ has also established cooperation agreements with universities from 20 different countries: Belgium, Canada, China, Cyprus, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Syria, Switzerland, Tunisia, the U.A.E. and the U.S.A.
USJ is also a strongly committed partner in many International organizations: Association of Arab Universities (AAU) Association of Jesuit Higher Education Establishments of Europe and Lebanon (ASJEL), Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), International Association of Universities (IAU), etc.
In 2005, an International Relations Department was created as a consecration of the University’s understanding of the growing importance of international cooperation.
The International Relations Department’s main role is to enhance already established international cooperation agreements, to promote research and mobility and finally to search for and benefit from all opportunities offered within the global and international context.
