US President Barack Obama recognized Ziad Sankari, Founder of CardioDiagnostics, as “pioneering”, “life-saving” and representing “the face of change in this world”.
After he lost his father to a heart attack when he was seventeen, Ziad decided to pursue his studies in understanding the electrical activity of the heart and how monitoring and analyzing that activity can save lives.
Ziad Completed a BE in Computer Engineering at Lebanese American University, worked as a telecom engineer, and later received a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue double Masters in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the Ohio State University.
He worked with several hospitals in different research and operational capacity across the US and the Middle East.
In 2009, Ziad helped the founding team start a high-tech biomedical venture based in the United States. Ziad and his team won several competitions and awards for the venture. The venture was later acquired by an industry giant.
In 2010, Ziad returned to Lebanon to work on yet another startup, CardioDiagnostics.
CardioDiagnostics is based on a core life-saving technology that he developed during his research time. The project is award-winner on Stars of Science, a popular reality TV which promotes innovation in the Arab world. The project is also the winner of the global GIST Tech-I competition.
Currently, CardioDiagnostics’ technology is transforming cardiac care in USA and other global markets, with patients benefiting from the technology across all 50 states.
Ziad conducted research with top US and Middle East hospitals.
He has been a guest speaker at the White House discussing technology innovation in developing countries.
He is actively promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in his community through university teaching and coaching of young startups. Ziad has a number of quality research articles published in international peer-reviewed journals.
