Characterization of Seismic Soil Liquefaction Susceptibility in Beirut and associated Liquefaction Hazard Map

Description :

Predicting the occurrence of soil liquefaction is a critical aspect in geotechnical studies. Lebanon is located in a seismically active zone and is susceptible to this phenomenon; the concern is mainly with urban areas with dense population such as the city of Beirut. The study is divided into three main parts. Part 1: Data will be collected from existing reports and literature, including laboratory and in-situ tests in Lebanon. Part 2: Calibration of the Iwan Iai Constitutive model. Part 3: Development of a liquefaction Hazard Map.
