Learning Theories and Pedagogical Choices

Educators are urged to develop educational philosophies and make pedagogical choices that are conducive to promoting transferable quality conceptual learning. Lessons are learned from the pandemic, the economic collapse, the environmental and social global challenges coupled with the developed research on how the human brain works and learns. Consequently, the course hopes to empower potential educators to develop: 1. a deep understanding of: (a) how children/students learn and when; and, (b) how learning theories can help them respond to every child’s individual needs; and, 2. the expertise to: (a) construct a personal project founded on informed pedagogical choices; (b) facilitate conceptual transferable learning; and, (c) collaborate with other professionals in forming professional learning communities.
