Legal, Policy and ethical considerations for data scientists

This course provides an introduction to the ethics, politics, and ethical implications of data in general, including personal data. The course will examine the legal, political, and ethical issues that arise throughout the entire life cycle of data science from collection, storage, processing, analysis and use, including, privacy, surveillance, security, classification and discrimination. Moreover, a brief introduction will be given about law and Labor law in general. Case studies will be used to explore these issues in various fields such as criminal justice, national security, health, marketing, politics, education, automotive, employment, athletics, and the development. Particular attention will be paid to legal and political constraints and considerations which are set in specific areas.
