Qualitative Research Methods

This course aims at introducing master level students to the fascinating world of qualitative research, its origins, its assumptions, and its scientific steps. It will enable students to open up to the various qualitative perspectives, mainly via inductive reasoning. The course derives its importance from the richness of qualitative research, which depends on the discovery of different perspectives regarding a specific problem. This allows the researcher to dive into the realm of human thoughts and behaviors and their dynamic nature. This research approach helps the researcher to approach educational issues in a flexible and scientific way to be able to identify a problem, review studies, write research questions, choose the most appropriate design for answering the study’s questions, design tools, collect data, and finally analyze and interpret results.
