Rayan Mina

Assistant Professor at the Electrical Department, ESIB-USJ

Rayan MINA holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Lebanese University in 2003, and a Ph.D. degree in RF Microelectronics from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Paris in 2008.

In 2017, Dr. Mina joined Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth (ESIB – USJ) as a full-time Assistant Professor at the Electrical Department. His main Research Topics include Circuit Design of CMOS RF Integrated Circuits / Transceivers, and Radio Interference & Jamming.

Before joining USJ, Dr. Mina occupied various positions in the industry:

• From 2012 to 2014, he was appointed technical consultant for Dubai and Abu Dhabi Police on state-of-the-art wireless Security & Defense projects related to Jamming and Mobile Interception.

• From 2008 to 2012, he worked as a Senior R&D Engineer at ST-Ericsson France, working on the design of deep submicron CMOS radio receivers for multi-mode 2G/3G/4G Smartphone and Tablet solutions.

• Dr. Mina was awarded two patents on his work on smartphone radio interference.

• He also received Novelty of the Year Award at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) in San Francisco in 2008 for his co-research paper “ A scalable Wi-Fi DTRx in 65nm CMOS ”.

• From 2004 to 2008, he was at STMicroelectronics France, working on Discrete-Time Radio Receivers wherein he designed and successfully tested the first integrated circuit in 45nm CMOS technology. This realization was subject of a Press release by the blue-chip company.
