Ziad E. Boustany received a BE degree in Electrical Engineering from AUB in 1987. He founded S.& A.S. Ltd in 1989 which he is still managing to this date. S.& A.S. Ltd employs 40 people, out of which 8 are engineers. The field of operation of S.& A.S. is development, design and production of electronic controllers. He strived to ensure that the features and quality of its products are always up to international standards. His mission was to create a Lebanese brand name that people can trust. He relentlessly worked towards this goal and, despite market pressure and loss of business, he insisted on focusing on the Lebanese origin of S.& A.S. products. He first introduced automatic pick-and-place and automatic optical inspection machines for SMD technology to Lebanon which were used in the production line of S.& A.S.
