This course aims to push students towards having a better understanding of all types of media texts in order to better translate them (from French into English).
It contributes to developing the following skills in the student: analysing the translation process of different types of media texts (titles, headlines, briefs, miscellaneous facts, classified ads, drafts, editorials, etc.) and carrying out an adequate translation.
It further instils the concept of re-writing in students’ minds and allows them to utilize this skill in their translations.
