A student’s diary

juillet 2021

The past few years have been a fusion of walks of shame and talks of blame. Students have come to a finish line where their power to proceed has pulled up its white flag. To reconcile these tormenting struggles, here are some confessions we all might have in common but rarely ever talk about.

  1. Guilt

Some of us might be struggling with guilt due to a decrease in their usual level of productivity. Some of us have been even comparing the amount of effort they are capable of giving with that of his/her colleagues. For students who have been on this guilt-trip, this one is for you. It is healthy to admit that you need to stop and process what is happening around you. You should not be overwhelming yourself with excuses, and explanations to justify why you needed to slow down.

  1. Disappointment

Keeping up with online classes can be difficult. It is not easy to cope with such a thing when your conditions of living are not as convenient as needed. From electricity shortages to a very slow connection, and unapt gadgets, maintaining a good connection feels like lifting Sisyphus’s rock. Making it work is a tough task, but it’s not impossible. Disappointment could feel like you have opened Pandora’s jar of false hopes, but it is key to remember that bad circumstances are not everlasting.

  1. Worry

You might be worrying about your finances, and how to stay faithful to your visions when everything seems to be unclear. The first step towards moving beyond those worries is to process what mostly matters to you. Finding your priorities allows you to manage everything at hand with more efficiency and less stress. With that being said, it is a must to speak up about how stressful the past year has been without fearing to be listened to but not heard. Sometimes, one worry at a time is all the load you need to handle.

To be fair, it is necessary to end this article with a winner’s attitude. We might not find an actual pot of gold, once the much-awaited rainbow comes out, but we will definitely enjoy the colors of a better sky. Fulfillment is not an intangible emotion; It has its perceivable colors and hues. It blooms through determination, and most importantly through maturity and care.
