The Confucius Institute at St. Joseph's University is the first Confucius Institute established in an Arab country.  In the past 15 years, under the guidance of the Center For Language Education and Cooperation, in the joint efforts of Shenyang Normal University and the St. Joseph University , with the support and help of friendly people from all walks of life in China and Lebanon, the Confucius Institute at St. Joseph's University has achieved fruitful results in promoting Chinese language teaching, promoting the spread of Chinese culture and promoting youth exchanges between China and Lebanon, making positive contributions to promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between the peoples from two countries.  

China and Lebanon are good friends, good partners and good brothers.  In recent years, China-Lebanon educational cooperation and exchanges have been expanding. The desire of Lebanese students to study in China has been increasing. Chinese language has become more and more popular in Lebanon.  This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Lebanon. We encourage and support the two countries to further strengthen cooperation in culture, education and youth so that more Lebanese friends, especially the youth, can experience and understand the unique charm of Chinese culture and deepen people-to-people exchanges and traditional friendship between the two countries.  

Thanks again to the university leaders, Chinese language teachers and friends who have made great efforts for Confucius Institute at St. Joseph's University!  I hope you will continue to support and assist the development of Confucius Institutes.  The Chinese Embassy in Lebanon will, as always, fully support the work of Confucius Institutes and promote the sustained development of China-Lebanon educational cooperation.  

圣约瑟夫大学孔子学院是阿拉伯国家的第一所孔子学院。建院15年来，在中外语言交流合作中心指导下，在沈阳师范大学和圣约瑟夫大学的共同努力下，在中黎各界友好人士的支持帮助下，圣约瑟夫大学孔子学院在推广汉语教学、促进中国文化传播和中黎青年交流等各方面都取得了丰硕成果，为推动双边人文交流、增进两国人民互相了解作出了积极贡献。

中国和黎巴嫩是好朋友、好伙伴、好兄弟。近年来，中黎教育合作不断扩展，交流规模不断扩大，黎巴嫩学生到中国学习的愿望不断增加，汉语在黎巴嫩越来越受欢迎。今年是中黎建交50周年，我们鼓励并支持两国进一步加强文化、教育、青年等领域合作，让更多黎巴嫩朋友，特别是青年群体体验和了解中国文化的独特魅力，深化两国民间往来和传统友谊。
