Vacancy Announcement for Librarian/Administrative assistant at Saint Joseph University Dubai

Saint Joseph University Dubai is looking to recruit a Librarian/Administrative assistant. The position is to be filled starting September 1, 2023.

Required Skills:

• Academic level: Bachelor degree or Higher diploma in humanities or social sciences, library management and archiving, business administration or any other relevant field.
• Good level in English/ and Arabic Languages (spoken and written); French is a plus.
• Good typing skills in Arabic and English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet.
• Excellent Organizational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Energetic.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of academic/university sectors.

Job description includes:

• Day to day management (including filing and referencing) of the Library and books borrowing.
• Filing, cataloguing and storing of new books.
• Integrating all resources on Koha, the Library management system.
• Initiating faculty and students on access to available online resources.
• Typing, filing and documents archiving.
• Answer the university’s central line and screen calls.
• Tests and exams proctoring and providing support in the exam process as requested.
• Organizing the printing and distribution of course materials and other documents to students.
• Perform research and data collection as requested.
• Assist the Manager for financial and administrative affairs in administrative tasks such as the making of travel arrangements for faculty members visiting the Dubai Campus, the tracking and supply of university goods and material and other relevant tasks as needed.
