In the presence of the Rector of Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), Prof. Salim Daccache S.J., as well as the South Korean Ambassador to Lebanon, USJ deans, coaches, athletes and the Korean community in Lebanon, the USJ Sports Office honored the achievements of the 2022/2023 season at the top sportsmen’s awards evening.

USJ was ranked first in Lebanon for the 2022-2023 season in terms of sports achievements, as confirmed by the Lebanese University Sports Federation (FSUL), which was represented by its Secretary-General, Mr. Ziad Saadé.

After warmly welcoming the ambassador and the champions of Lebanese universities, as well as the Korean “Kukiwon World Demonstration Team”, the USJ Rector expressed the University’s pride in its athletes, underlining that they had once again demonstrated their exceptional qualities.

H.E. Mr. Park, Ambassador of South Korea, expressed his satisfaction at being welcomed to the best university in Lebanon, underlining that the Embassy is delighted to collaborate with this quality institution.

The Director of the Sports Office, Mr. Maroun El Khoury, revealed that he would be strengthening his collaboration with the Embassy of South Korea, particularly in the fields of taekwondo and other sports. This collaboration promises to bring exciting new opportunities for USJ students and athletes.

After a magnificent performance by the Kukiwon World Demonstration Team, the FSUL Secretary-General presented the Rector and USJ team captains with the Best University Award for the 2022-2023 season. This was followed by the awards for the best team athletes, a highlight of the evening when outstanding athletes were honored for their outstanding performances.
