Beirut, June 5, 2025

As part of the “Year of the Sea,” the Chair of “Fondation Diane” in Education for Eco-Citizenship and Sustainable Development (CEEDD), in partnership with the French Embassy in Lebanon, successfully held the Océans et Mers Plastifiés” competition on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Innovation and Sports Campus (CIS) - USJ, Beirut.

The competition, aimed at secondary school students, brought together over 150 participants from nearly 20 schools, showcasing 178 creative projects, including 32 posters and 146 models.

This impactful participation raised awareness about the urgent issue of plastic pollution in our oceans by effectively combining artistic expression with environmental education.

A jury of 14 members, including a representative from the French Embassy, carefully evaluated the projects. Winners will be announced soon, following the completion of the evaluation process.

This initiative stands as a testament to the youth’s ability to think critically and creatively about environmental challenges. It aligns with CEEDD’s mission to cultivate a generation of responsible and engaged citizens, equipped to lead the transition toward a more sustainable future.

“This competition shows that Lebanese youth are full of creativity and environmental awareness. Their work revealed the urgency to act for the protection of our seas and oceans” said the CEEDD team.
