20 juin 2025

The Dean of USJ Business School, Pr. Fouad Zmokhol had the honor of participating in the Euro-Med Banking Summit 2025 in Paris, organized by the Union of Arab Banks and the Fédération Bancaire Française, under the high patronage of President Emmanuel Macron.

He chaired the panel “Arab European Collaborative Initiative: Strengthening Economic Alliances in a Divided World,” alongside leaders from the EBRD, Banque de France, German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, IBFed, Institut du Monde Arabe, and the National Bank of Kuwait. He also spoke on the panel “Reviving and Restructuring Banking Sectors in Arab Crisis-Affected Countries,” sharing the stage with prominent figures such as Mr. Pierre Duquesne, former Ambassador and Interministerial Delegate for the Mediterranean, and Mr. Carlos Conde from the OECD.

In his speeches, Pr. Zmokhol emphasized that reviving the banking sectors in crisis-hit Arab countries is more than a policy goal; it’s a lifeline for millions and a prerequisite for peace, jobs, and dignity. “This is not the time to disengage,” he stressed. “It’s the time to act, strategically, responsibly, and with compassion.”

He called for a renewed Arab European alliance, grounded not just in history but in a shared future built on trust, cooperation, and economic resilience. In today’s divided world, collaboration is not a luxury; it’s the only path to peace and sustainable progress.
