Interview exclusive pour Ici Beyrouth

1er août 2025

In his interview with Ici Beyrouth, Prof. Fouad Zmokhol, Dean of USJ Business School, described the draft GAP law as a crucial first step toward Lebanon’s financial restructuring.

He emphasized the need for the law to:
• Define the financial gap (estimated at $70–$72 billion)
• Set a clear methodology for loss allocation between banks, depositors, and the state
• Establish mechanisms to recover funds transferred abroad or illicitly obtained
• Guarantee deposit protection and fair compensation for depositors

At USJ Business School, we are committed to linking real-world challenges with academic excellence, preparing our students to actively contribute to Lebanon’s recovery on solid foundations.
