The Dean of USJ Business School, Pr Fouad Zmokhol, proudly took part in the Union of Arab Banks (UAB) Forum entitled “Support Programs for Economic & Banking Sectors in Crisis-Affected Countries – Experiences of Arab States and Advanced Banking Systems,” held last week in Beirut.
Pr Zmokhol had the honor of moderating the opening panel, “The Role of Central Banks in Supporting Banks During Crises,” which explored vital issues such as:
• Refinancing programs
• Quantitative and monetary easing measures
• Macroprudential policy tools
In his address, he emphasized that central banks are not merely technical institutions but anchors of trust. During crises, their ability to provide liquidity, enforce regulations, and communicate strategically can determine whether economies recover or collapse. His key message resonated clearly: resilient banks require strong central banks, and strong central banks thrive on the trust of society.
This active participation reflects the core mission of USJ Business School: linking theory to practice and ensuring that our students are immersed in real-world debates that shape economies and financial systems.
Through such international forums, our students gain access to a powerful local, regional, and global network, preparing them to become impactful professionals and decision-makers in an ever-changing business landscape.
