On October 1, 2025, the Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) and Suyool S.A.L. signed a collaboration agreement to facilitate students’ access to digital financial services.

Through this partnership, USJ students will be able to open a personal Suyool account, an e-wallet licensed by Banque du Liban, providing access to a wide range of digital financial services. They will also receive a Suyool payment card linked to their account, enabling fast, secure, and convenient electronic transactions. Students will further have the option to open a bank account with a personal IBAN. This initiative reflects the shared vision of both institutions to promote financial inclusion among young people.

Prof. Salim Daccache, SJ, Rector of USJ, stated: “This collaboration with Suyool reflects our commitment to equipping students with not only quality education but also practical tools that support their daily lives and financial independence. This step strengthens our ongoing efforts to build a connected and forward-looking university.”

Mr. Arz Murr, CEO of Suyool, added: “We are proud to partner with USJ to promote a culture of digital payments among young people, especially in a context where cash has dominated since the financial crisis. Facilitating students’ access to bank accounts and payment cards is an investment in a conscious, independent generation ready to take part in Lebanon’s digital economy.”

Through this agreement, USJ and Suyool are laying the foundation for cooperation that places financial technology at the heart of university life, empowering students in both their academic and personal journeys.
