On July 21, 2025, Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) welcomed Mr. Christopher G. Chagoury, representative of the Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury Foundation, to the Faculty of Humanities Ramez G. Chagoury, recently named in honor of Ramez G. Chagoury.
Mr. Chagoury met with Prof. Salim Daccache, SJ, Rector of USJ; Mr. Samir Assaf, President of the Board of Directors of Fondation USJ; Mrs. Myrna Gannagé, Dean of FLSH; Mrs. Cynthia-Maria Ghobril Andréa, Director of Fondation USJ, along with Mr. Toufic Baaklini and Tarek Farran, Esq., and other university leaders to discuss ongoing projects and future plans for the Faculty.
The visit highlighted the Rose-Marie Chagoury Foundation’s long-standing commitment to education and its support for initiatives that promote learning, knowledge-sharing, and social responsibility in Lebanon.
The day continued with a lunch, followed by the Faculty’s graduation ceremony. Mr. Chagoury congratulated students for their dedication and resilience, praising their ability to persevere amid economic and social challenges. He expressed pride in seeing Ramez G. Chagoury’s name associated with a Faculty that shapes open-minded, critical, and socially engaged graduates.
The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between USJ and the Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury Foundation, bound by the same conviction that supporting education is supporting Lebanon’s future.
In recognition of his support, Mr. Christopher Chagoury received the USJ 150th Anniversary Medal in a ceremony marked by simplicity and mutual respect.
