The Professional Training Center (CFP) at USJ is pleased to announce the launch of the second level of its Wine Mastery program titled Advanced Wine Mastery Certification: Viticulture, Enology, and Sommellerie.

This program aims to offer an immersive experience in viticulture, advanced enology, and wine appreciation. Wine tasting and analyzing, exploring advanced winemaking techniques, understanding terroir and developing critical sensory and analysis skills are included in the program.

Wine enthusiasts, industry professionals, viticulture practitioners as well as graduates in advanced enology, viticulture, hospitality, and culinary arts are welcome to enroll in this program. The prerequisites are the completion of the first level of the Wine Mastery Certification at the CFP or any other equivalent from another institution, an academic background or professional experience in the domain in addition to basic understanding of wine tasting fundamentals and terminology.

Blending theory with hands-on experience, the program offers an immersive journey into the world of wine. Participants explore major grape varieties and terroirs across France, Italy, Lebanon, and the New World, while mastering advanced sensory analysis techniques used in professional evaluation and marketing. From biodynamic viticulture to winemaking processes, students learn to connect production methods with tasting profiles through structured tastings and analytical tools.

Behind the program stands a trio of distinguished experts. Carlos Khachan brings over two decades of international wine and spirits experience; Roland Abou Khater combines academic excellence with hands-on vineyard leadership; and Tamara Gebara blends scientific precision with real-world enology practice. Together, they offer participants a rare mix of passion, expertise, and industry insight.

Running from March 10 to May 19, 2026, this 37-hour in-person certification takes place at the Professional Training Center on USJ’s Campus of Innovation and Sports. Sessions are held from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, making the program accessible to working professionals. The program includes premium wine tastings and cheese pairings, with an optional guided excursion to Beqaa wineries for direct exchange with winemakers.

With a registration deadline set for March 9, 2026, the program invites wine enthusiasts and professionals alike to elevate their expertise—one tasting at a time.
