Rami Khouri is the Director of the Issam Fares Institute of Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut as well as editor-at-large of the Beirut-based Daily Star newspaper, published throughout the Middle East with the International Herald Tribune. He is an internationally syndicated political columnist and author. Rami was a visiting scholar at Stanford University in October 2006, and in November 2006, he was the co-recipient of the Pax Christi International Peace Award for his efforts to bring peace and reconciliation to the Middle East. Michael Young is a contributing editor for Reason, the libertarian monthly named one of "The 50 Best Magazines." Young is also opinion page editor of the Daily Star newspaper in Beirut. Formerly he edited the Lebanon Report and the bi-annual Beirut Review, both publications of the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies. He has published in the New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Slate, Tech Central Station, the International Herald Tribune, the Los Angeles Times and others. Young received a B.A. in political science from the American University of Beirut (1985) and an M.A. in international relations, specializing in the Middle East, from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington.
