The USJ Council has always put sports at the center of its general educational strategy.

“For the past 20 years in Lebanon, university sports have been an integral part of the national sports system,” confirmed the Rector of USJ, Salim Daccache, s.j. USJ therefore considers itself to be at the heart of a new mission: that of “meeting students’ expectations when it comes to physical activity and sports, but also that of being a reference for sports culture development, teaching teamwork, the will to surpass oneself, volunteerism, graciousness, altruism, a sense of responsibility, respect for others – even opponents – and ethics.”

At the end of this academic year, the Sports Department concluded the sports season on June 25th with an awards ceremony at the Humanities Campus, celebrating the best USJ athletes.

The Rector, who was present at the ceremony, was keen to “congratulate all our different sports teams and their leaders for the role they bravely occupy by playing sports, be it as a means of distraction or a veritable life culture, for this role is essential to the University’s mission. I know that success, at the national and international levels, will accompany them always, because our teams enjoy a sense of belonging to their university, whose colors they wear and defend with pride.”

Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to the athletes. Congratulations to all!
