2 USJ PhD students win 2nd and 3rd place in the MT180 competition

The national final round of the 2nd edition of the MT180 competition – “My Thesis in 180 Seconds” – organized by AUF in partnership with CNRS Lebanon took place on June 30th, 2018.

The national final round of the 2nd edition of the “My Thesis in 180 Seconds” (MT180) competition, organized by the AUF Middle East Regional Management, in partnership with the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon (CNRS-Lebanon), took place on June 30th, 2018, at the CNRS headquarters in Bir Hassan.

Fifteen Francophone PhD students from various backgrounds participated in this final round, presenting their research in 3 minutes. They are students at the Lebanese University, Saint Joseph University, and the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. The 2nd and 3rd place prizes went to USJ students, respectively Leila Deghaïli from the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, and Myriam Mekhaël from the Faculty of Pharmacy.

About Myriam Mekhaël:

Thesis title: Transmission of resistant bacteria in Lebanon’s animal system

Education: LS-Biochemistry FS USJ, Master of Research in the Structure-Interaction of Macromolecules and Functional Genomics FS USJ. Currently a doctoral student in nutritional sciences – microbiology branch at the Faculty of Pharmacy, USJ.

Holds an AUF-CNRS-USJ scholarship and USJ Research Council.

About Leila Deghaïli:

Thesis title: The letters of Gustave Flaubert

Education: Doctoral student at the Department of French Literature of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities.

This award proves that she has mastered several skills, such as eloquence, rhetoric, popularization of high-level research, and condensation.
