Institutionalizing the action of the USJ Alumni Associations abroad

July 25, 2019

“Saint-Joseph University of Beirut relies on its network of alumni, be they in Lebanon or in other countries around the world. Ambassadors of their alma mater, they play a role in increasing the university’s influence, help enhance the employability of its graduates, and support it in meeting its mission and purpose.”

Such were the words of Pr Salim Daccache, s.j., delivered to USJ Alumni during the thematic workshop entitled Institutionalizing the action of the USJ Alumni Associations abroad, on July 25, 2019, at the Campus of innovation and sports.

In response to the invitation of the Rector and the President of the Federation of USJ Alumni Associations, Pr Christian Makary, 35 members of Alumni Associations both abroad and in Lebanon actively participated to the meeting where they worked and exchanged ideas. Several other members of the international USJ Alumni network took part in the discussion via videoconferencing.

The meeting allowed everyone to get to know one another but also enabled them to share their respective experiences and discuss issues of mutual interest and relevant topics related to the formation of USJ Alumni abroad Association. Add to above, the animation of the Alumni Community, the strategy and practice of fundraising, and links with the University and the Federation.

The exchanges continued during a dinner at the L’Atelier restaurant in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
