The Diploma in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) is one of the first academic programs specifically designed for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It provides a practical introduction to how healthcare systems evaluate treatments, measure health outcomes, and make evidence-based decisions.

This 10-month hybrid program is designed for professionals in public health, pharmaceutical industries, and healthcare provider organizations, who want to build expertise in HEOR.

The 36-credit program includes 6-modules covering key HEOR concepts and their application in global healthcare systems, with particular emphasis on the structure and challenges of MENA healthcare markets. Courses are delivered asynchronous online, complemented by live online sessions and one in-person workshop for practical learning and networking.

The program is delivered by international and regional experts, and developed in collaboration with the Center of Clinical, Health Economics, and Outcomes Research (CCHO) to support career advancement and healthcare innovation in the region.

Will artificial intelligence replace translators, or will it redefine their role? At ETIB, the Master in Translation turns this question into an opportunity. Rather than preparing students for a disappearing profession, the program trains a new generation of multilingual professionals capable of leading the future of communication. Their work not only responds to the needs of today’s global market; it also contributes to enriching Large Language Models (LLMs) with Arabic content, ensuring that the language, culture, and knowledge of the Arab world are represented in the digital future.

Grounded in linguistic agility, cultural intelligence, and strategic thinking, the program opens doors to a wide ecosystem of careers that extend far beyond traditional translation. Graduates pursue careers in tech companies, language industries, international organizations, diplomatic institutions, audiovisual media, publishing houses, communication and advertising agencies, financial and legal institutions, and many other fields. They also assume emerging roles in the digital language era as knowledge architects, multilingual content strategists, conversational designers, and language engineers.

At ETIB, translators do not compete with machines; they teach them how humanity speaks.

Training Today to Better Guide Tomorrow: USJ Serving Education in Lebanon

flash-usj

In a context marked by numerous educational challenges in Lebanon, Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting the development of the education sector and assisting Lebanese schools. Through a joint initiative led by the Student Information and Orientation Office, the Professional Training Center (CFP), and the Higher Institute of Social Work (ESTS), USJ launched an innovative training program entitled: “Connected Counselors: Reinventing Student Orientation with AI.”

Delivered free of charge and in person at the South Lebanon Campus (CLS) – R.F. André Mass, s.j. on January 27 and 29, 2026, and at the Humanities Campus (CSH) on February 10 and 12, 2026, the training targeted orientation counselors and secondary cycle coordinators. It brought together more than 67 participants from 40 schools, reflecting a clear ambition: to equip local education professionals with practical tools and offer them concrete opportunities for professional development, despite current constraints. This training covered the themes of the Artificial Intelligence in the service of orientation as well as preserving the human relationship with students, while respecting their individuality

This comprehensive approach reflects a strong belief: AI does not replace the human being but enhances their expertise.

An Initiative in Support of Lebanese Schools
By offering this training free of charge and primarily targeting Lebanese schools, USJ reaffirms its commitment: serving society. It provides orientation counselors with a valuable opportunity to develop skills aligned with future tools, while strengthening the quality of support offered to students.
