Graduates emerge as versatile data scientists capable of steering organizations toward evidence-based decisions across diverse sectors. ![]() USJ Honors French President Emmanuel Macron with Special Tribute![]() On May 23, 2025, during a meeting at the Élysée Palace, Mr. Samir Assaf, President of the Administrative Board of Fondation USJ and member of the USJ Board of Trustees, formally presented French President Emmanuel Macron with a special edition of the commemorative book Patrimoine – Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth: 150 ans d’héritage et d’excellence, dedicated to him by Rector Prof. Salim Daccache, SJ, as part of the University’s 150th anniversary celebration. In his dedication, Prof. Daccache expressed gratitude to President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron for their steadfast support of USJ and Hôtel-Dieu de France throughout Lebanon’s recent crises. He described their solidarity as a reflection of the core values of the French Republic, and extended warm wishes on behalf of the USJ community, reaffirming the enduring bond between France and the University. Orientation Internships at USJ: An Immersive Experience to Better Choose Your Future!The Student Information and Orientation Office (SIO), in collaboration with various USJ Institutions, launched orientation internships targeting the best grade 10 and 11 students from all schools across Lebanon. These internships, organized within different study fields, enable the selected participants to live the university experience hands-on, discover various careers and better understand the academic paths available to them. It is a real opportunity to learn more about themselves, hone their interests and make clear orientation choices. Selected based on their academic excellence (CV and school results), the students will have the opportunity to explore several study fields through hands-on workshops and meetings with professionals. This initiative was met with great enthusiasm by the students. More than 350 applications were received, submitted across various USJ programs, including Medicine, Dental Medicine, Agri-Food Engineering, Occupational Therapy, Midwifery, Performing Arts, Insurance Science and Oriental Library, clearly reflecting the strong interest in this opportunity. Selected for their academic merit, the students were proud and grateful to be able to participate in these internships and could not wait to live this enriching experience. At the end of each internship, students will receive a certificate of participation outlining the skills acquired, which represent an added value to their future academic and professional paths. TThe Lebanese chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) held its General Assembly to conclude the 2023-2025 term and elect a new board for the upcoming term, from June 2025 until May 2027. Naji Boulos (IUT/IGE, 1983), Marketing and Communications Consultant at the Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) and President of the Alumni Association of the Institute of Business Administration (IGE), was re-elected as President of the Association. During the assembly, the outgoing board presented a complete report on its activities over the past two years. Among the many initiatives and achievements, the IAA Lebanon Hall of Fame was a success, celebrating excellence and legacy in the advertising sector and receiving wide recognition all throughout the region.
