Professor Gina Abou Fadel Saad, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation and Director of the School of Translators and Interpreters of Beirut of Saint Joseph University was invited to incorporate the UCG (Universities Contact Group) of the IAMLAD (International Annual Meeting on Language Arrangements, Documentation and Publications), a body of the United Nations Organization, set up in 1967. Saint Joseph University of Beirut thus becomes the only member of the UCG representing Lebanon and the Arab world.

UCG is a working group whose mission is to act as a liaison point for the further development of relations and co-operation between international organizations and training providers/universities.  It defines items of mutual interest and stimulates suggestions for future projects. It comprises representatives of many international organizations and representatives of a limited number of institutions involved in the training of language professionals.
