Chair Georges Corm

The main objectives of the Chair are as follows:
 
1. Promote research and teaching on the themes, methods, and works developed by Professor Georges Corm within the ISP over nearly 40 years, following a multidisciplinary approach. The topics of study include: the de sectarianization of the Lebanese political and legal system, the construction of a civil state serving its citizens, the implementation of reform policies and development models, public finance, Lebanon’s role as a buffer state in the Middle East, relations between East and West, and Arab political systems.
2. Provide training and courses on the aforementioned themes.
3. Organize research activities on the selected topic through student work, surveys, and thematic workshops.
4. Award university scholarships related to the Chair’s areas of focus.
5. Publish an annual study on the selected research theme.
6. Organize an annual conference or a series of conferences on the selected theme.
7. Use and promote the works written by Professor Georges Corm, available at the Georges Corm Library at USJ, within the framework of the annual thematic framework.
