Mathematics for Finance

The mathematics for finance course exposes students to the mathematical concepts and techniques used in the financial industry. It aims to familiarize them with the main concepts of financial mathematics and to provide them with the tools and techniques necessary to solve certain problems of capitalization, discounting, annuities and loans. Students will understand the fundamental concepts of financial mathematics, and how those concepts can be applied in calculating present and accumulated values for various streams of cash flows. This course will be the base for more complex financial operations as well as the tool to understand any simple banking operation.
