The Efficiency of Fiber Post Removal using Conventional Ultrasonic Technique vs Guided Approach: An In Vitro Comparative micro-CT Study

Description :

The following is a follow-up to the pilot study project “Evaluation of 3D printed resin premolars in the reproduction of root canal anastomoses” code “FMD153”. The study focused on using Cone Beam CT and Micro-CT imaging of extracted teeth to create replicas of teeth that accurately reproduce the internal micro anatomy for academic purposes, for use during practical sessions. The present study will also rely on digital imaging with the aim of producing an endodontic guide for managing fiber post removal during endodontic retreatment on calcified human extracted teeth. The design of the study is an in-vitro comparative micro-CT study. The purpose of this study is to objectively calculate the volumetric change of previously endodontically treated teeth before and after the prefabricated post removal and to illustrate a micro-CT method for accurate dentin volume comparison among tooth specimens by measuring the change in tooth volume.
