Human Rights Laboratory 2

The main theme of the course is “The Missing and Forcibly disappeared”. The Human Rights Lab 2 is a practitioner based seminar that seeks to present an issue through the multiple perspectives of those involved in it. The seminar examines the issue of the missing and forcibly disappeared persons in post-war Lebanon from transitional justice and peacebuilding perspectives. It will invite Lebanese and international civil society actors to talk about their advocacy and lobbying efforts to create a National Commission to address this issue. The students will engage in these discussions and will reflect with the experts and stakeholders on ways to move forward highlighting the centrality of the issue of the disappeared in the process of national reconciliation.
