Practical introduction to research 1

This teaching unit is part of the bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy. It is a 2-credit closed elective TU (semester 5). It introduces students to practical research and familiarizes them with research steps, ethical questions, methods, and materials. It allows them to participate in recruitment, data gathering, and data analysis. It contains a mix of theoretical and practical sessions preparing them to conduct their final dissertation. This TU contributes to the development of the following competencies: Competency 5: Research -Demonstrate in-depth and systematic knowledge, understanding and application of theories and best evidenced-based practices. -Analyze and assess clinical practices following ethics rules, priorities of public health and the evolution of theoretical knowledge. -Identify, choose, and use scientific conclusive data.
