In a fast-paced world, innovation is key and the driving force for every professional especially for entrepreneurs. The generation of new and viable ideas and their transformation into products, services, and systems is pivotal for the growth and sustainability of any business. This course aims to equip the next generation of entrepreneurs with a critical and creative mindset and its related core skills in innovation and creative problem-solving. It is developed on decades of practices of teaching innovation at School Stanford University. We will examine the renowned IDEO’s Human-centered DESIGN THINKING process from beginning to end, starting with the understanding the user’s needs to techniques for brainstorming and generating new ideas and developing the “Concept”, prototyping, testing and finishing with the creation of a new product after analyzing its Desirability, feasibility and viability. Multiple creative thinking techniques like mind mapping and thinking hats will be explored in this course as well as refining critical thinking skills allowing people who aren't trained as designers to use a practical toolkit to address a vast range of challenges. Sessions are set as a mix of interactive activities, lecture, discussion, and presentations of projects.
