Comparison of the load to failure of lithium disilicate and zirconia laminate veneers with different surface pretreatment: an in vitro study

Description :

The study will include 3 groups of veneers on extracted premolars: group 1 being lithium disilicate veneers (control group), group 2 being zirconia veneers with air abrasion coupled with a primer containing a phosphate monomer (MDP), and group 3 being zirconia veneers treated with a layer of lithium disilicate (Biomic Lisi connect by Aidite). All veneers will be bonded on freshly extracted premolars using the same etchant on tooth structure, bonding agent and adhesive resin cement. For standardization, all teeth will be prepared following the same principles. After bonding, the specimens will undergo artificial ageing (thermocycling) and load to failure will be tested on a universal testing machine using a custom tip. Values will be compared between the groups and will be also compared to the human bite force in the premolar region.
