This course aims to enable students to: -Master the three stages of consecutive interpreting, develop the linguistic tools and the cognitive baggage; -Work on synthesis and the speaker/interpreter gap; -Use increasingly sophisticated mnemonic methods to memorize 4–5-minute auditory texts; - Develop note-taking skills; -Build up terminological bases and glossaries relating to specific themes and use them to good effect. Objective at the end of the 2nd semester: being able to consecutively interpret fluently and correctly into English, 4-to-5-minute specialized Arabic speeches.
