Pr. Nada Moghaizel-Nasr, Emeritus Dean and Delegate of the Rector for Quality Assurance and University Pedagogy at Saint-Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), was appointed member of the Joint ILO/UNESCO Committee of Experts on the Application of the Recommendations concerning Teaching Personnel (CEART).

The mission of this Committee is to promote and monitor the application of the two international recommendations, which are still highly relevant, concerning teaching personnel in schools and universities: the Joint ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers (1966) and the UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Higher-Education Teaching Personnel (1997).

The Committee consists of international experts in education, teaching and the world of work. It studies educational trends and the way countries apply the Recommendations. It also examines allegations from teachers’ organizations regarding non-compliance with the principles of the Recommendations in Member States and draws up conclusions and recommendations for the resolution of these cases.
