The Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) proudly names Prof. Marie Abboud Mehanna, Head of its Physics Department at the Faculty of Sceince (FS), as jury president for the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science awards covering the Levant (Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq) and the Gulf (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Yemen).

A 2009 International L’Oréal-UNESCO laureate, she joined the program’s regional jury in 2011 and its international panel in 2014. Her distinguished career reflects the excellence, rigor, and humanity at USJ’s core.

“It is an honor to see this distinction awarded to USJ, the very foundation of my scientific and academic journey,” Prof. Abboud Mehanna remarked. “I am committed to advancing the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program across our region.”
