On Saturday, December 20, 2025, the USJ Campus Ministry organized a Christmas mission in Kfarwa, in southern Lebanon, in partnership with the parishes of Kfarwa, Kfour, Hajje, and Adoussiye. The initiative reflected a strong commitment to standing alongside communities in the South, particularly in the aftermath of the instability caused by the Israeli strikes at the end of 2024.

Throughout the day, children, youth, and families took part in a range of activities designed to meet their emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Creative and artistic workshops gave children the freedom to express themselves, unwind, and simply be children.

Teenagers and young adults were invited to participate in a workshop led by a psychologist, where they could openly share their fears and concerns in a supportive and safe setting. The discussion also focused on sources of resilience, encouraging participants to reflect on what gives them strength and courage during difficult times. Adults, meanwhile, gathered for a separate session led by the USJ Campus Minister, centered on a Gospel passage that sparked reflection, dialogue, and meaningful exchange.

One of the most joyful moments of the day was the arrival of Santa Claus. The distribution of gifts brought excitement and delight, filling the space with laughter and bright smiles. Beyond the gifts themselves, the gesture carried a deeper message, one of care, compassion, and genuine presence, especially for the youngest members of the community.

The mission concluded with the celebration of Mass. This shared moment of prayer offered a sense of unity and spiritual grounding, reminding participants of the heart of the Christmas message: God who is always near.

This mission would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers nor without the generous support of our donors. Thanks to their efforts, more than 100 people of all ages were able to take part in a day marked by encounter, solidarity, and hope.

In Kfarwa, Christmas this year was lived not only as a celebration, but as a moment of closeness, shared humanity, and renewed hope.
