etude des mecanismes neurobiologiques responsables de l'effet anti-craving des statines

Description :

In the present project, we aim 1) at further characterizing the effects of simvastatin and other statins on nicotine craving, 2) at investigating the brain mechanisms underlying these behavioral effects. In self-administration models of addiction in rats, we will establish the boundaries of the effects of statins. Separate groups of animals will be prepared in task 1 and will be used for neurobiological studies. In vivo experiments (nicotine self-administration and statin treatment) will be performed and brains samples will be used for biochemical analysis.
