This course illuminates the rich tapestry of Hispanic culture and civilization, offering a comprehensive exploration of both Spanish and Latin American societies. Spanning twelve sessions, the class will delve into the multifaceted aspects of life within this expansive and diverse region, examining cultural, economic, political, and religious dimensions. Throughout the course, students will engage with the complexities of Hispanic civilization, addressing key themes such as culture, diversity, race, ethnicity, and gender. Discussions will extend to encompass political structures, economic systems, migration patterns, urbanization trends, social justice issues, and the interplay between art and cuisine.
