Histologic and Radiographic Assessment of Bone Regeneration and Graft Volume Stability Following Lateral Sinus Lift Using a Collagen-Infused Xenograft Block.
Description :
Upon consultation, patients requiring lateral sinus augmentation prior to implant placement will be recruited for the study. They will undergo lateral window sinus lift using the test xenograft block material and a CBCT scan will be taken immediately post-operatively. 6 months later, during implant placement, a second CBCT scan will be performed pre-surgery, and a bone biopsy will be obtained from the grafted site. Histological analyses will quantify new bone formation and residual graft material. CBCT scans will be digitally superimposed to measure graft dimensional changes. Radiographic data will be correlated with histological findings to evaluate the clinical and biological performance of the material. Patients must be healthy, above 18 years old with good oral hygiene. They are then informed about the details of every procedure included in the study, its benefits and possible complications. Should they agree to participate, they will have to sign a written consent before being officially enrolled in this clinical study.
