The School of Translation at Saint Joseph University Dubai Campus invites applications for a full-time teaching position at Assistant/Associate Professor level, fluent in the Arabic and English languages.

  Requirements

-      PhD in Translation from QS ranked University (top 600).

-      Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic. French is a plus.

-      Record of publications in leading international journals.

-     Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is a must (and preferably at graduate level).

-      Experience of the UAE Higher Education sector is a plus.

-      Agility in handling Microsoft tools is highly recommended.

Additional preferred requirements

-      Experience in accreditation processes at national and international levels.

-      Experience in students’ affairs and in dealing with students as key stakeholders.

-      Experience in administrative affairs in higher education institutions.

-      Willingness to be trained to take in charge the quality assurance processes of the campus as an administrative task. This role includes:

• working closely with the Director of campus to prepare and conduct the accreditation procedures and renewal of accreditations.
• establishing systematic internal processes for the maintenance of academic standards and integrity,
• analyzing academic data (including exam results, report grades, attendance figures and other specific academic areas),
• authoring essential regulatory documents to be submitted to accreditation agencies,
• benchmarking against similar programs accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Candidates must be prepared to offer high-quality teaching at the Bachelor and Graduate levels as well as through the continuous professional development activities. Preference will be given to those committed to service and academic programs development, and are research active.  

Teaching and research activities will be in the Arabic and English languages.

The University Profile

Saint Joseph University has been established in Beirut since 1875; it opened a branch in Dubai in 2008 and is currently offering the Bachelor of Law Program, an LLM in Business Law and a Master in Translation. The university and the programs are fully accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in the UAE. Saint Joseph University is located in the Dubai International Academic City, Building 11, Ground Floor.
