Andre EL KHOURY est titulaire d'un doctorat en génie de procédés et de l’environnement section génie microbien de l'Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (INP), France, et d'un doctorat en chimie de l'Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, Liban. Il détient également un diplôme d'ingénieur agronome de l'Université Libanaise, un master en chimie alimentaire, un master en physiologie et une licence en sciences de la vie et de la terre de la Faculté des Sciences de l'Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth. Actuellement, il est professeur associé occupant un poste à temps plein (enseignement et recherche) au sein du Département de biochimie des sciences de la vie et de la terre, à la Faculté des Sciences de l'Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth. Il est responsable du programme de master Chimie Alimentaire depuis 2010 et, depuis 2014, responsable du laboratoire de recherche Mycotoxicologie et Sécurité Alimentaire au sein de la même faculté. De plus, il est éditeur invité pour les revues Frontiers in Nutrition et Frontiers in Fungal Biology, ainsi que reviewer pour de nombreuses revues scientifiques. Ses intérêts de recherche portent sur la mycotoxicologie, l'impact environnemental des champignons filamenteux et leurs mycotoxines associées, les bioaérosols, la résistance aux antimicrobiens, les biofilms, le contrôle des aliments, la toxicologie alimentaire, la microbiologie alimentaire, les contaminants alimentaires et l'analyse des aliments. Dr. El Khoury est membre du Réseau International de Biotechnologie (INB) et membre du projet 18 de l'unité Chimique, Biologique, Radiologique et Nucléaire (CBRN), travaillant sous l'égide de l'Institut Interrégional de Recherche des Nations Unies sur la Criminalité et la Justice (UNICRI) et couvrant les domaines de la biosécurité, de la sûreté biologique, de la bioéthique et des sciences de la vie responsables. Il est également membre du comité de sécurité des aliments fondé par le ministère libanais de la Santé Publique en 2021 et membre du comité d'experts désigné pour évaluer l'impact sanitaire des grains moisis et fermentés des silos libanais après l'explosion du port de Beyrouth en 2020, ainsi que membre de la Société Mondiale des Sciences Réglementaires Alimentaires (GFoRSS). Il a suivi diverses formations au niveau international couvrant différentes disciplines scientifiques et a collaboré avec l'UNICRI en tant que formateur sur l'utilisation malveillante des réseaux sociaux pendant la pandémie de COVID-19.
