Developmental project management and appraisal

The course focuses on the management and implementation of the development funded projects, primarily projects in Lebanon. The aim is to introduce the students to project management’s lifecycle with special consideration to developmental funded projects in the country and to enable them to prepare project proposals. It also covers methodologies for appraising projects involving economic, financial and social factors. Students are introduced to the role of key players and stakeholders in this filed, and most important, to the project cycle management with emphasis on developmental funded projects’ specificities. They will engage in critical analysis of management tools for project appraising such as LogFrame matrix, project profitability indicators and techniques for financial appraisal including discounted methods such as the net present value analysis. It also enable students to write a successful project proposal and appraisal report with highlights on interaction of donors and beneficiaries, experts, planners, and analysts.
