Principles of Economics

This course aims to introduce economics, economic systems, and the history of economic thought by tackling the most critical concepts and tools that economists rely on to build their theories. The economic theories and concepts provide an insight into the role of governments and markets in the economy and help identify the market mechanisms and economic policy tools. This course also includes an in-depth study of macroeconomic principles and the principles of microeconomics, which is the starting point for economic analysis. It aims to enable students to understand the components of supply and demand and the price determination in competitive markets in order to evaluate the impact of government intervention on market equilibrium.
