Family Business

More than 75% of businesses worldwide are family businesses. In addition, family businesses form more than 85% of the US private sector employment and more than 35% of S&P 500. Students will surely have careers, or at least close relations, within the family business framework. This course develops the characteristics and perspectives that transform family businesses into real legacies that goes through generations and overpasses barriers. Practically, each and every session is an opportunity to understand family businesses specificities, typologies and qualities in order to be able to appreciate their originality and their high potential. Furthermore, we emphasizes the evolution of family member’s professional, managerial, communicational and legal relations. Finally, the course develops the main phases of an effective succession plan that copes threats and assure a smooth and safe continuity for family businesses.
