STEAM Education

STEM/STEAM Education is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics as access points for guiding learner inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking. It aims to engage learners in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. This comprehensive course has been developed to provide researchers, educators, curriculum designers, and teachers with opportunities to understand the keys to a meaningful STEM/STEAM effort and develop knowledge and skills which will improve educational research and support participants’ professional development. It considers the environment in which a researcher/educator work and its impact on teaching. Through readings, discussions and case studies, participants will gain insights into the rational foundations and the pedagogical strategies that can enhance STEAM education and reform curricula.
