Initiation à la traduction à vue

This introductory course in sight translation aims to introduce the concepts of transition from written texts to oral performance. It focuses particularly on the techniques of speed reading, “oralization” and the basic principles of good performance in delivering a message that fulfills its communicative purpose. It in no way claims to train interpreters, but rather to communicate to students the basic methods of identifying the meaning beyond linguistic forms, the characteristics of speaking, celerity, and diligence in performance.
