Culture and Civilization of the Hispanic World

This teaching unit sheds the light on the Hispanic culture and civilization. The course will provide an overview of the diverse Spanish as well as the Latin American societies. Over the course of 9 sessions, the class will explore the cultural, economic, political and religious aspects of life in this large and diverse region. During class, students will tackle the Hispanic civilization through culture, diversity, race, ethnicity and gender, politics, the economy, migration and urbanization, social justice, art and cuisine.
