Practicum 3

This TU is part of the bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy, in semester 3. It is mandatory. It allows the students to develop their skills and clinical know-hows during placement. It is a prerequisite to Practicum 4 and has Practicums 1 and 2 as prerequisites. This TU contributes to the development of the following competencies: 1/ Clinical approach: Conduct interventions for screening and assessments in Speech and language Therapy within a clinical approach. 2/ Collaboration: Collaborate with different stakeholders in order to establish appropriate intervention adapted to the context and suited to each individual. 3/ Communication skills: Provide health professionals, parents and patients’ environment with information about the specificities of the disorders encountered and their impact on the individual’s life, for prevention and screening purposes. 4/ Therapeutic relationship: Establish and maintain a valuable therapeutic relationship with the client and with his family and relatives. 5/ Research: Engage actively in a clinical research process in order to better improve linguistic knowledge as well as to strengthen Speech and Language Therapy in Lebanon. 6/ Professionalism: Respect the ethical code in practicing Speech and Language Therapy
